This was a pretty well paced book from my girl Teresa Patterson who always pays homage to St. Petersburg in her novels. Joshua Parker was shall we say "curious" and got far more than he was seeking with Chancy. As with all secrets, Joshua's was semi-discovered by nosey co-worker , Georgetta who used info to blackmail him into a relationship.Stacia's situation was one of severe abuse perpetrated against her by everyone from her mother to her stepfather to her husband. Abuse was sexual, verbal, and physical and still on-going. I only wish we were told where Michael was let out. I wanted to know the rest of that story!

Strange but thought provoking. Almost like a mystery but definitely a page turner. I was kinda in limbo with the ending... But overall, a decent read.

Read this book in one day couldn't put it down every character had a messed up life I guess it explains for their actions when u get tired of something u take action I would highly recommend this book keep up the good work ms Patterson.
I've been a big fan of Ms. Patterson's for quite a while now. What I love about her books is that she always writes about real issues, and draws you in immediately. Her stories flow effortlessly, she seasons the story with lots of drama. I always look forward to reading her books, because I know that she's going to bring the heat! I'd recommend this book to everyone!
I loved how all of the characters got their just do. I highly recommend this book it is a page turner I read it it 2 hours.
I am never disappointed with this author so I expected nothing less from her. This book was amazing. It touched on so many social issues like abuse and sexual confusion. In the beginning I started out strongly disliking the main character and as the drama unfolded I was rooting for him to make better decisions and get his life together. He might not have done everything conventionally but he gets to a place of peace.
I love all of Teresa D. Patterson books. Very entertaining and well thought out. Twists and turns and unexpected endings that make you want to keep reading her other books. I can visualize the characters and scenes in them all. They could each be turned into Lifetime Movies.
